Can’t Add Friend on Fortnite

Fortnite makes it easy to add friend on Fortnite. You are able to send friend request to friends on other platforms and you can also send them to people you have played with recently. Here is the method to add friends on Fortnite. First, launch Fortnite and make a Save the World, Battle Royale, or Creative lobby. Second, click or tap the friends icon that looks like the human silhouettes if you are playing on PC or mobile. On Xbox One, press the view button. Third, click or tap Add Friends if you are playing on PC or mobile, press X for Xbox One users, press Y for Nintendo Switch users, press Square for PlayStation4 users. Fourth, choose the Enter Display Name or Email and enter the Epic Games display name or email of your friend. Fifth, you will see a Friend Request Send message.


What should you do if you cannot add a friend in Fortnite? If you encounter this issue, when you send a request to add to you as a friend, people see the message saying that you cannot add a certain user as a friend because of his privacy settings or you cannot be a friend. If you see this, you need to perform these following steps. First of all, you need to check your privacy settings in the Epic Games client. To do this one, click in the client window on the Friends button that is located in the left menu, and in the window that shows up, click on the third icon, the one that has the name Social Settings. In the list that shows up, you have to remove the check mark from the item Auto Dicline Friend Requests. After that, you need to change the settings inside the game, they are not always saved automatically, so do the following:

  • Step 1: Open Fortnite and head to options.
  • Step 2: head to the very latest tab with the little man icon that called Account.
  • Step 3: find the item Auto Dicline Friend Requests and set the value On opposite it, and then head to the sound settings, change the volume to any value and apply the settings.
  • Step 4: after clicking Apply, go back and turn off automatic rejection of friendship, set the option off next to Auto Dicline Friend Requests and then change the sound again and click apply.
