Fortnite Guide: How to Refund Skins – Returning Cosmetics & Items

A year ago, the developer of the Fortnite called Epic Games announced a scheme that would allow you to refund skins in Fortnite and all platforms. It means players on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox are able to take part in the plan.

You are able to refund cosmetics in exchange for V-Bucks. On the other words, you are able to recycle any skins, emotes or gliders that you no longer want can. Evens o, there are still limitations. Here is the overview of how the refund process works in Fortnite: Battle Royale:

  • You are able to return up to 3 cosmetic purchases for V-Bucks in a lifetime.
  • Once you have returned 3 cosmetics items, you will not be eligible for any more refunds.
  • You are able to only refund purchases within 30 days.
  • If the item that you have refunded is not in the Item Shop, you are not able to buy it again until it returns.
  • You will find the process named the Self-Service Cosmetic Returns in the Purchase History section of the Item Shop.


What is eligible for the refund? You are able to request a refund for the categories such as Emotes, Gliders, Harvesting Tools, Back Bling, and Outfits. What cannot you refund? As for the things that you cannot refund, these are Battle Pass, Battle Pass Tiers, Starter Pack, Founder’s Pack, Founder’s Pack Upgrades, Loot Llamas (Save the World), and Event and Weekly Items (Save the World).

How to refund cosmetics in Fortnite? The first thing that you have to do is to go to the Settings menu at the top right of the screen. then, click the far right tab. This thing will take you to the Account and Content page. There, you will see the Unintentional Purchases section. Please click Submit a Request. You will have to go to another screen that will show what cosmetic items are eligible for a refund. You can highlight the cosmetic that you want to refund on the left hand of the screen, and choose it to confirm. Now, you have to give a reason. The options are Accidental, Unauthorized, or Item Not as Expected. The next thing that you have to do is to select the option that applies to you and confirm Submit Return Request to claim the refund. You will be prompted one last time in order to confirm the refund. Please click confirm to claim the refund. Once you claimed it, the V-Bucks that you have spent on the cosmetic will be added back into the Fortnite account. If you want to check it, you can just simply look at the top right of the screen.
