Fortnite System Requirements for Mac & PC

Fortnite has become one of the newly popular battle royale style games. A colorful mix of violence and fun, this one drops you into a map with 99 other players to duke it out. The game sets itself apart not only by its bright environments but its building mechanics. You will be creating ramps, walls, and platforms all in an effort to reach, or avoid your competition.

As one of free to play games, Fortnite is available for everyone to download. Currently, the in game purchases of the game are devoted to cosmetics and a battle pass that allows you to earn prizes as you play. With a colorful art style and face paced fights, it has quickly earned a following on streaming services like Twitch. And with no required entry free, everybody is welcomed.


Available across a lot of platforms, including mobile, Fortnite has set itself apart as a low impact game that welcome everyone. However, if you want o join in on the fun thing you have to make sure you meet the Fortnite system requirements. For those who use Mac and PC, then you need to meet the requirements for both devices.

If you want to run Fortnite at a minimum, you will need a 2.4GHz processor on Windows 7/8/10 or Mac, at least an Intel HD 4000 video card, and 4GB of RAM. In order to run Fortnite on the best settings, you are recommended to have a Core i5 2.8GHz processor or greater, 8GB of system RAM, and a 2GB video card such as the AMD Radeon HD 7870 equivalent DX11 GPU or Nvidia GTX 660. That is the system requirements for the best performance. You will find it a bit trickier to meet the system requirements on Mac. If you are not sure how to check the specs of your Mac, here are things that should be done. In the top left of your screen, you need to click the Apple icon. Then, choose About this Mac from the drop down menu. After that, please select the More Information window.

From that stage, you will be able to check on the specifications of your Mac. In addition, there are some Macs that are better suited than others, including MacBook Pro (555 may have issues, 560 is the recommended one), iMac Pro, and Mac Pro. Please do not afraid to play with settings in order to see what results you are able to get. If you want to make sure that you are able to play you will want to make sure your Mac has the following specs: Mac OS X Sierra, Intel HD 4000, Core i3 2.4 GHz, and 4GB RAM.

Fortnite might not the right style for you. If it is the case, you do not have to worry as there are a collection of games and their needed specs waiting for you. It does not matter if you prefer PC, Mac, or console, everything is there for you.
