Usually, Epic Games updates the Fortnite shop known as Item Shop every day at 1 AM BST with skins, gliders, emotes, pickaxes, and so on. Those cosmetics are normally the ones that have been released in the past, and a couple of times a week, there will be brand new Fortnite skins making their way into the Item Shop for the first time.
For the past few seasons, the developer of Fortnite have been adding in free skin styles for the Fortnite skins that have been already been available in the Item Shop. The new skin styles are able ti be masked or unmasked versions of the skin, or simply a new color. All of them are provided to the owners for free.
With most Fortnite updates, the developer adds in new skin styles that are leaked by data miner during downtime. When a skin of the game receives a new skin style, it is all but confirmed that it will be available in the Item shop within a week or two.
In the previous major Fortnite update called v12.60, Epic Games added in a new Fortnite skin style for Recon Expert. This one was added back into the shop and here is what you have to know about it.
The skin called Recon Expert was added for the first time to the shop on October 30th, 2017. Since then, it has only be in the shop once more prior to today, which was on November 12th, 2017. It means it has been the rarest Fortnite skin for quite some time now, and a lot of people thought that Epic Games would not ever add it back into the shop. However, with the new style being added, which removed the hat from the skin, players were sure it would make an appearance.
The Item shop updated at the normal time, but then updated once again to add Recon Expert. This one was not in the shop for 927 days and is able to be purchased for 1,200 V-Bucks. It is shocking Epic Games added it back discretely without a tweet mentioning it is in the shop. With the other rare skins that have returned in the past, the developer has either released a teaser tweet, or they have posted a teaser video or image, making buzz regarding the release.
It will be interesting to see who long Recon Expert will be available ti purchase, but the skin could be gone by the next shop reset. In this case, you need to make sure to purchase it before then if you are wanting to get the previously rarest skin in the game called Fortnite.
