The developer of Fortnite known as Epic Games has long allowed you to keep your progression, unlocked skins and V-Bucks across the PC, mobile, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox versions of the game, but the PlayStation 4 version was known for not playing nice with the other consoles. The good news is that everything has changed.
Epic Games has finally introduced the merging account for the well-known Fortnite Battle Royale game, meaning that if you have been playing on PS4 and want to transfer your account to Nintendo Switch and Xbox, you are able to do so with a few quick steps.
When you visit the merging site of Frotnite, you will be asked to select a Primary Account or the one account that you plan to continue using and a Secondary Account or the one account that you want to carry over your data from. Please keep in mind that the Secondary Account will be disabled once you perform the merge, so if you want to bring your progression to an account, you will say goodbye to another. Another thing to keep in mind is that it will take two weeks for your items and V-Bucks to carry over from the Secondary Account to the Primary Account, so do not be panic if you do not see your items show up right away.
In order to merge your Fortnite accounts, the first thing that you have to do is to visit the Account Merge page on Epic Games’s site and click Get Started. Then, choose your platform of choice for your Primary Account. You will then be directed to that login site of the platform, where you will need to log in with your credentials. The next thing that you have to do is to enter the authentication code sent to your email address. After that, choose your Secondary Account platform and repeat the same process. Do not forget to review your associated accounts for each platform, and choose Preview Merge. If everything looks great in the preview, you can check off the acknowledgement box and choose Start Account Merge. The last thing that you have to do is to type the phrase you are presented with to authorize the merge. In the end, your two accounts are now merged. As stated before, it will take around two weeks for the items and V-Bucks of your Secondary Accounts to transfer over.
How many times can you merge Fortnite accounts? It is unknown of how many times a player can merge the accounts. Some people believe there is no limit. Epic does not really care about how many times you merge your account. There are some other important things to know such as your PS4 and Xbox or Switch account need to have both played Fortnite before September 28, 2018 to be eligible for a merge; you will need access to any email address associated with the accounts; the your account must not currently be banned or disabled; and so on.
